“First of all thanks for letting us use your home. The place has a wonderful feel to it and we all unanimously declared it amongst our favourite cottages 'ever' (and we've stayed in 'zillions'.) Beds were amazingly comfortable (and two full size settees – deep joy.) We all love the village and eating at our favourite Rogans brasserie and fave pub – Kings Arms. Bathroom is beautiful and your taste/style of décor makes it a great place to be. Love to come back in summer to make use of the garden. Thanks again”

“We lived in Barn Garth for a short while several years ago and I’m happy to say that it’s reassuringly the same – as though time has stood still. Step out in the back at night and listen to the silence. We’ve spent 3 weeks in this lovely cosy cottage and wish it could have been longer.”

“We have enjoyed 6 days here and we really enjoyed staying in your cottage. It is very tastefully decorated (we especially love the bathroom!) and you have some beautiful furnishings. The cottage is very comfortable and homely. My oldest son (4) really loves the bedroom and the conservatory! The village is very quaint and nice to wander through. There is a playground round the corner which we found very handy with 2 little boys! The cottage is in a good location with local shops on the doorstep. We have been up to Coniston, Bowness, Ambleside, Grasmere, Hill Top and Grizedale. We also went on the steam railway from near Haverthwaite to Lakeside and then took a boat over to Fell Foot Country Park which is beautiful.
A lovely cottage in a lovely part of the world, thank you, I’m sure we’ll be back.”

“Loved Cartmel and a nice cottage to stay in. Walked from Silverdale to Hest Bank over the sands on a guided walk – very wet and windy but a unique experience. We both dined at “L’Enclume” to celebrate a birthday and a 40yh wedding anniversary – a special restaurant. Had an excellent pub meal in the Kings Arms and enjoyed the beer festival in the Royal Oak.
Small items which would have made our stay a little easier:
1) a lock on the bathroom door and
2) a stair gate on top of the stairs.
A very welcoming and child friendly cottage.”

“We had a lovely weekend in your cottage, the dogs loved it here. We went on a walk to another village seven miles away and I got really bad blister. The bed was really comfy. The window in the kitchen made a good TV where me and Cassie put on a show!
Love Sophie, Cassie and Toby and Lily the dogs.
"A superb cottage a lovely weekend, and England regained the Ashes!! See you next year!"

“Had an excellent walk up Hampsfell. It was very steep at the top but the views over Cartmel were fantastic. If you looked behind you could see Morecambe Bay. We watched the horse racing and the horse I voted for won the race. You have got to get a thunder and lightening ice cream from the Priory shop!!! The bed was comfy. I like your big bath.”

“Lovely and comfortable cottage in an excellent location. The cottage catered well for our party of 6 adults and 1 child of 3 years old. All agree on how well equipped and how characterful the cottage and its décor were. Wonderful! So obviously a 2nd home, well done on your taste etc….Definitely be back very early 2010.”

Excellent accommodation, very homely and a fantastic base for the lakeland walks. We would recomend Muncaster CAstle to anyone who enjoys stately homes and unspoilt gardens!!
1st May - 8th May 2010
A lovely homely base from which to explore a beautiful area. Great walks from both directly from the cottage - can recommend Cartmel-Holker Hall-back home! A circular walk with beautiful views as was the walk up to the hospice - and plenty more just a short car ride away. At the end of a tiring walk good to come "home" knowing that you are also spoilt for choice where to eat in the village. We have had a great time - hope you do too.
Best wishes Chris, Graham, Nigel, Scott, Jenny and Ian & Ollie
